What is the best charger for 11.1 LiPo..850mAh. I have the 'charger' that
came with it, which itself requires a 12v supply. I use a car battery
charger, and hope thats ok. But I understand, batteries have to be fully
discharged? occasionally?
I've seen many chargers that discharge batteries before recharging
them...and am suitably confused..
any advise as to best / value much appreciated. re links info.
Cheers

You don't need to discharge Li-po's in fact if they are discharged below a
certain voltage the you damage the cell, any charger that is designed for
Li-Po batteries will be ok, I would be a bit careful in using a car battery
charger for powering your charger as they are not smooth DC voltage outputs,
either buy a 240 12v 1A supply or use a 12v battery

Never discharge a LiPo. It must not be dropped below 3V per cell (9V for
your pack) otherwise there could be a risk of them catching fire. It's not
as common as the scaremongering claims but when they do catch fire they are
hard to put out.
Cheers,
Nigel
