Hey Guys,
This post is a little OT but had to post it here anyway. I’ll make it as short as possible.
As a boy I would scour the Radio Shack flyer’s that would come frequently in those day’s. One thing of interest to me were the free flashlights they would give away from time to time. I would walk a few miles to the store to get them. The other was the electronic kits. Well circumstances prevailed and I never did get to build one of those kits. So here I am very close to 50 years old; memory’s of those kits forgotten long ago.
A few months ago I came across this forum (DIY electronics) and those memories were jogged. So I’ll cut to the chase. I now have a P16Pro that I built from kit! And installed in one of my planes is a LoMA (lost model alarm), which I just completed yesterday! Wooohoooo!! When I verified that everything was working properly and heard those chirps it sent chills down my spine. Realize that those few months ago I had no idea whatsoever what a pic, or diode, etc. was.
Just wanted you guys to know that when you generously share your knowledge and time it can sometimes mean much more than someone having a new gadget to play with.
I do want to mention RC-CAM as the LoMA is his design, and he also supplied the hex for the chip.
To all of you that helped, thank you so much.
