Hi, I am not really a model fanatic let me explain my dilema, I am a fisherman who has built a radio controlled baitboat, to those out there who do not know what a baitboat is let me explain
It is used to take your bait out to inaccesible places on lakes ie up against bushes on islands, then a hopper on the boat is tipped to allow your bait to be positioned exactly where you want it. My problem is this, I have a Fatuba T4YF Tx and a Ripmax Xtra ESC with BEC, when i put the power on the motor runs even though the throttle lever is in the neutral position. I then have to put the trim lever to max to stop the motor, I also have to move the throttle lever at least 4 clicks before the motor starts to run.
Can someone please advise, many thanks in advance.
Regards
Bob

Bob,
It sounds like the ESC needs to be calibrated/set (I'm not familiar with that particular ESC so have no idea if it's one that can be set). Hope you kept the instructions that came with it...

I think the Xtra is non-programmable and should involve an arming sequence in setting up. Usually this means taking the throttle to full ahead and back to neutral accompanied by much "beeping" from the speed control. You could also try Ripmax customer service if you've got no manual.
Who knows, one day you might decide that boats can be more fun than fat boilie-fed carp;)

Hi, Problem solved now that I have found the set up instructions for Ripmax ESC, Fatuba TX throttle control must be set to reverse. Many thanks for your replies.
