Has anyone made a simple altitude logger with a MS5534 sensor from Intersema? Just starting to learn about PIC's and found some info on this sensor , it looks pretty simple to build because it has temp. and A/D built in.I just don't have the know-how to write the program for the PIC.

Interesting. Do you know what it costs?

I found a design online at http://www.kapelec.com/altiose1.htm. This looks interesting but transmits video and other stuff I'm wanting to just log altitude, that I can store in eeprom and download later onto computer.

Here's another one using the MSMS5534. Has some added bonus - can log voltage / amps /rpm and 3rc channels too and weighs a mere 12g!
Got one myself and pretty hapy eventhough I don't log altitude (use it on a micro heli).

Did you build this logger or did you buy one already built?

I bought one already build from

You can buy the different sensors from him too.
The one I got logs Bec voltage, battery voltage, battery amps, RPM, temperature, altitude and with appropriate connectors up tp 3 rc channels.
It not cheap and the software is not very comfortable to use but otherwise works well.
