Can we use Realflight G2 on a Macintosh G4 if using Virtual PC 5.0 ?

Wow, try saying that fast 5 times. :p

Thanks,

Al

VirtualPC has support for USB but none for 3D as far as I know. You'd be looking at pretty low frame rates since your Mac would be working to emulate windows and the sim as well as not taking advantage of your 3D hardware. I love my Mac, and use it for just about everything, but have a "scratch built" PC for my sim/gaming fix.

I think that this was asked previously and I'm positive the answer from Jim was NO.

There is another emulation product out for the Mac. Unfortunately I can't remember the name.

As KV said, none of the emulators support Microsoft Direct X which is used by Realflight and Reflex.

It may be possible to run Aerofly Pro (and Deluxe?) with the emulator since it uses Open GL as it's graphics language which I think the Mac supports.

Search this forum for SSS (Sloap Soaring Simulator) and X Plane. The first is a legit RC slope simulator -lots of fun! Imagine throwing your plane off a cliff into the ocean and expect to get it back despite the fact that it doesn't have a motor. I don't think I can ever do that!

The second is a flight simulator in the usual sense the only thing is that it comes with an RC model and some folks have already created a few planes for it and they seem pretty happy with results. Search around this forum you'll find them.
Good keywords are: mac, SSS and x-plane.

I would forget about Virtual PC altogether. It's almost the price of a used PC -if not a cheap new one.

I have my no name PC for FMS and the a mac G4 for everything else.
