Hello All - new member here, second season boater. I'd care to find one or two good sites to educate me on Cat vs Deep Vee hulls. Given these 2 types of hulls with the same engine, same gas/oil mix, same boat weight:
What performs best in calm lake water, choppy lake water, and rough river water? I only know that Miami Vice type Deep Vee's can hop over waves, and Cat hulls can corner quickly at high speeds.

Thanks!

PS: I'm about to buy one or the other hull type with a Zenogh G-26

i went through this when i was figuring out what gas boat i wanted.all though the cat will usually be faster on a calm to mild chop day,the deep v will be more user friendly all around.one thing to keep in mind is where you plan on running it mostly.the bigger the better for both cats and v's.i got tired of getting harased at ponds so i'm clearing out my little boats and am building a 69" dual engine deep v for the willamete and columbia.if you havent bought a boat yet email me and i will give you the info for a salem manufacturer that made my boat.he has cats and deep v's all top quality.he still had 2 deep v's like mine that need to be finished, stringers installed and the deck joined to the hull, but they were 100.00 vs 475.00 .my email is www.jaberwolfe@yahoo.com
