Hi;
I am looking for a set of plans for Blaine Rawdon's Mirage (RCM 793 I think).

If anyone has a set to dispose of, let me know the price and condition and I will send money!

Thanks a lot,

Kevin Thomas

Mirage plans are available from RC Modeler magazine, plan #753 - $14.50.

Isthmus Models (Mark Miller) sells a short kit with lase cut ribs, etc. which does not includes a plan set:

Intersting to note that the plans RCM sells were actually penned by Blaine. Were not redone by one of RCM's draftsman.

I recently finished building a Mirage using the RCM plans and Isthmus models short kit. The only thing I did not use was the canopy supplied. It went together very easily. I bought the balsa I needed from Lone Star balsa and the LHS. I have about twenty flights with it and it climbs out in a thermal quite easily .I used the construction notes on the Isthmus web site.

Blaine didn't have a canopy on the original design. It was Bill Muellers idea (Hi-Flight Models). As he was a power flyer he thought it would increase sales.

Canopies are made to be looked out of; not into.
