Hi,

Don't laugh at the following questions please :) :

- Do RC flying saucers exist?

- What are the best existing models?

Thanks !

i think you are asking in the wrong forum.
if you look in the foamie section, you can find several threads on a plane called a 'geobat'. as far as the 'best existing model' of this type, it has been proven to be easy to build, and stable to fly. do a search for 'geobat' and you will get a lot of results.
if by flying saucers, you mean round, flat models, then yes. there are tons.

Hi Robbie,

I've read plenty of posts on these forums and I also learnt about the geobat which, to me, is nothing but a plane in disguise.

Actually, I am looking for something shaped like a flying saucer that can fly outdoor and do geostationary flights like copters. Not only that, it would be very nice if, unlike the "draganfly", the propellers could be hidden ( that would be less dangerous too ).

if you find it, i'm sure these guys can tell you HOW and WHY it works, though.

As much as many of us would like to see cool flying saucers and other spaceship models, the fact is that the round (saucer) shape itself is not very good, aerodynamically.

Sometimes you'll see a very lightly loaded foam Enterprise or something similar flying around, but they are usually hanging on the prop at a high AOA, and are twitch in general.

Hey, don't let that stop you from trying... But just remember that RCer's have been trying these things off and on since RC began... with the same results.
