Does anyone have a USB interface cable that they are not using and would like to give/sell to me so I could train on FMS???

Thank you very much,
Mark

Milehighwings is an excellent company to deal with. I ordered a serial interface from them on a Thursday night, it was delivered on Monday.
It came with a disk containg V8.2 of FMS and 500 more planes.
Can't go wrong with them! ;)

12.99 for a Logitech Dual Action (two stick) gamepad - NIB.

Do the sticks on the game pad move in all directions? What I mean is: does it move just like, say an Xbox controller's sticks(8 directions)??? Or does it just move up, down, right and left like the transmitters do?

I'm not sure what you are asking. A true tx is a bit "notchier" - due to dual axis gimbels. But I actually find the gamepad smoother. Lie I said, for 12 bucks and a free sim...

The Matt cable DOES NOT WORK with XP. The RC circuits is closing on 75 CAD... no thanks. Like I said - for FMS the gamepad is great.

We'll have USB cables back in stock either on Saturday or, as the latest, on Monday.

I've looked into the mattclement site and he sells the serial port links...I need the USB link. I might just have to beg my bro to split the cost of milehighwings' cable with me 50/50!

KyFBCGuy: Tell me how it works when you get it.

One more thing, do you need some kind of special card or anything to read the cable(to get it to work??)???

Thx,
Mark

Does anyone have the pinouts for a serial cable. I think I can just make one myself. The serial cables work with XP right?

There is a program to use a serial W/ 2000 or XP. Someone posted a reply
about it her earlier. The USB setup is for 2000 or XP.

It is a little more elaborate than just hooking up the pins.
There is a box that has some electronics in it to make it run properly.

Check the website: www.milehighwings.com

Mark,

Follow this thread http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=306157&page=2&pp=15&highlight=usb

It provides several links to web sites with code and schematics for USB interfaces.

Thanks for the offer but me and my bro put our $$$ together and bought the usb link from milehighwings, and it works very well...too bad you have to use your tx batt.

Thank you all for your help,
Mark

Frogdude,

Take out your crystal if the cable doesnt cut off the transmitter.

The transmitter uses more power when it is transmitting.

It will use far less power without the Crystal installed.

You can get Matt Clement at :www.clement.24@osu.edu. Matt has the cable for 20 bucks. Just make sure to tell him it's for XP. BTW-Matt is the Guru on FMS and peripherals and a nice guy to boot.
