Heres another question, I hooked up my rotors to a drill chuck direct drive set up and spin them up, and looking at the blades while spinning, they dont lift, they just go straight out, it this because in use the air blows through then and creates the proper lift,?

It's a combination of lift and drag that make them work in flight. To get any lift the way you are trying to test them you would have to have a lot in the way of RPMs.

Gyrocopter blades are not set to make lift while spinning while not moving. They only begin to make lift when moved through the air. The drill spin up method is used to shorten the takeoff distance needed to get the blades up to speed. If the rotor made lift with the drill spinning it up forward motion would cause it to stop spinning. Spinning the blades in your hand with a drill does not accomplish much of anything other than helping you balance the blades.
