Are there any sites out there that can help me build my own ESC for a car (7.2V)? Thanks for any help!! :)

EDIT: Oh, and brushed not brushless :)

There is one listed as a 250 amp controller for cars..Its a good place to start

The link on that website goes to a site that sells the kits and pcb's but the main site doesn't work so i cannot get the schematics. :( Ohwell, i'll keep looking..

Are you looking for an ESC with reverse or just forward?

It looks like there are a few ESCs out there that uses power MOSFETs. I'm thinking about building an H-Bridge IGBT based reverse/brake ESC - should handle 100+A continuous. Next will be brushless/brushed controller. Anyone ever build a brushless ESC for R/C cars? There is quite a few brushless for airplanes but they all seem to be sensorless whereas the cars are sensored? Are all car brushless sensored? Anyone else build a brushless ESC?

Most RC Car brushless controllers are sensorless. The most popular RC car sensored brushless controllers are the Novak and the Aveox ones.

How about a DIY ESC that will be used in a model boat application. A controller for DC motor(s). Brake will be unneccesary obviously but reverse at low speed/amps will be. Slow start would be neccesary due to a gear box being used normally, as well as a good proportional slow speed/prop rotation ability. Any thoughts?
