Anyone know what happened to the thread about a simple PWM servo tester, say for a Futaba S3003 servo? I remember seeing it on here, but after just pounding the search function of this site, I come up with nothing. It was here during the summer, and I had the pic d/l'ed, and I remember that the schematic was right out of the 555's datasheet with some slight modifications, but I do not see it now. Where'd it go?

I don't remember the thread, but this page has links to one with a 555, and one done with a 556. http://www.uoguelph.ca/~antoon/gadgets/gadgets.htm

Here is a quick and easy build for a simple servo driver (http://web2.murraystate.edu/andy.batts/ps/simpledriver.htm).

Nobody's found anything I recognize yet, though Andrew seems to maybe have something I can use. I don't have PowerPoint installed under Windows, so I'll have to check it out under Linux (OpenOffice).

I've just noticed this thread about servo testers. I have one that's based on a PIC (more accurate and stable than a 555. If it's any use, then see my servo tester (http://www.peill.org.uk/tester)

Interesting combination, embroidery and electronics :)
Looks a nice simple layout..

Not a bad idea, but it would be useless for my purpose: actual positioning input for a servo, say for a home built engine testing dyno/stand. ...but I did find one that would be useful using a 555 and a few other components. Don't remember the site it's from though.

I have been saving servo tester circuits for the very purpose of setting up my motor test stand.
I found this one to be very simple.

Haven't tried it yet but will be building it this weekend.

Hello James --
The one I've posted in #5 above is essentially similar to the one on Tony van Roon's page, but has component values adjusted for easily located off-the-shelf parts. Plus, you do get a mask should you want to use it.

Andrew.
Excellent. Thank you!
I have made PCB's in the past but feel a perf board with point to point inside a little project box would be perfect. Think I have most of the parts in my junk box.
Thanks again.
James
P.S. Using your PSU conversion instructions at this very moment. Thanks

I think it was Tony Van Ron's page where I found that schematic, but I don't remember the web address, and haven't stirred it up on Google again. Google actually showed it to me, like, on the second cluster of results.
