I have seen the Microscream plans online, and they look simple enough, but does anyone have schematics for a similar device using Radio Shack parts? I'm really just wanting to avoid having to order the components. Thanks

I think by his post he has seen it and was wondering if the parts can be bought at Radio Shack OR if there is another simular unit that the parts can be bought at Radio Shack. I doubt you find the needed parts at Radio Shack these days as they really don't carry very many parts anymore. :(

I just placed an order tonight at Digikey. I am going to order enough parts to build 5 units.
I can send you a set of the parts for $6.50 shipped or I will even buy the parts aprox ($5) and make up a completed unit to send to you if want. Is $16 shipped a fair price for a unit made up?

Thanks for the replies, and I apreciate the offer, Charlie. $16 would be a fair price, but I guess that I will go ahead an put in an order myself, as I hope to build enough for all of my planes. I was just hoping that there was some way to build one without ordering the parts because I got a couple of days off unexpectedly and I thought that it would be a good project to build during this time. It's that instant gratification thing, I guess! :D

NP Buddy!! :D
I was going to make a few of these for myself and I already had a parts list made up and thought I would make the offer! Have fun! :)

hey Charlie,
I would be interested since Im total ZERO in electronics.
I would need one alarm for 3S lipo pack and one for 2S
is there a difference??
Now U see where I am at this hehehe?

Every one of my (LiPo-powered) models has a low voltage alarm - it's called a Discernable Drop in Power.. :)

Here's a circuit I have used to convert GWS ESCs for LiPO use before LiPO compatable ESC's got cheap. The RST goes low when the critical voltage is reached and could be used to drive an alarm with a little additional circuitry.
The brains of the circuit is a CPU supervisor and I bought several from DigiKey for couple of bucks each.
Hope this helps.

Oops, forgot to post the circuit board layout.

Have been playing with this also. I did a pcb and probably made
a lot of mistakes, so I am going to attach it and maybe someone
can correct it and come up witha valid one, just trying guys.

nakelp86: we're not talking Low Voltage Alarms, or LVA's this is Lost Model Alarms, usually used by slopers to find a plane that went down below out of sight...
