I have been saving some money to get into Nitro RC and am starting to look
around on eBay and some of the online stores at vehicles. I was wondering
what is the advantage to buying a 2wd vehicle like a RC10 GT or a 4wd
vehicle like a Ultra LX Comp? Is there a performance or handling difference?

I would check out what others are racing there. If you are wanting to
race, having a vehicle that many others have could insure you can always
find a race.
At our track, all the guys who race electric 4WD buggies also have
either a 2WD buggie or a stadium truck, because many times not enough
4WD buggies show up to make a full class.
