Hi,

One of my motors appears to need jump starting, and doesn't have much torque. If I give the gears a little help the motor runs fine. The motor will not rotate at all when the rotors are on.

I have checked the connections and voltage at the motor, which is fine, the problem is in the motor itself I suspect. Is there any way to fix these motors? The BR flew fine for a few weeks (20 + flights).

I suspect the motor is probably hooped, and was not up to the job.

5 minutes x 20 flights = 100 munites. There are some reports of motors burning out after 100+ minutes. Especially, in the stock unlighten BR (that is still with the body). Also, is the motor, powering the lower rotor, the one that is not working. A limited number of replacement motors are available. Petter posted links in one of the recent threads.

That's why I am using carbon brushes instead of the stock wire fingers. And also using a heatsink. But I realize this is beyond the skills of many. I just mention it in case someone is interested in trying.

Replacement motors.
If you have the posibility you should also check the resistance on the bad motor. It should be about 1.7 - 1.9 ohm (turn the shaft and take several measurements) if not it is an indication that the brushes are damaged. I believe that "Kwok_Yu" changed the end cap of his motors to get carbon brushes. If you want to replace the motor, you can get them here: http://www.pgoelz.com/
