Anyone using a Century 3-bladed T/R? Looking for the O.D. of the T/R disc. I believe that it is designed for a 5mm OD shaft. I'd like to get this verified also. Building a Hirobo Lama and I'm looking for a 3-bladed T/R to compliment the 3 bladed head I have on order. Any pics or comments on setup and operation will be appreciated.
TIA and Happy Holidays - Boyd

I'm sure you checked out the century site already Boyd.
Pretty sure it is based on the Hawk mechanics though, which has a 5mm TR shaft (just measured it)
I am sure Peter at Century or Payton could verify it for you.

I heard that Century was redesigning the multi-blade main rotor heads, but didn't know the T/R's were going to be revised also. The multi-T/R's are available now on the Century website.

Greetings Boyd,
After having so much fun with my XRB SR Lama, I went searching for a scale gas Lama and ended up here :)
I haven't been able to find much info on it. Did you get it from MTA? What about the 3-blade hub? I would love to get that, but is it less stable than the standard configuration?
Are you using a .31 engine? Any links or advice would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Rick

I bought the Hirobo kit and three bladed T/R from Century. The three bladed head came from Heliproz. My Lama is the being electrified and has a Hacker B50 20XL and Tanic 6s4p Lithium Polymer battery packs. It's a green machine. There will be a build article here in the E-Zone later this month if all goes according to plan.
Cheers - Boyd;)

Wow! Electric!!!
I thought I was going to have to jump into the "slimer" world if I wanted to have 30 size Lama ;)
Theoretically, can you get comparable performance going electric? What kind of flight time are you hoping for?
I will be anxiously awaiting your build review!!!!

Yes, and no mess to clean up plus it sounds like a turbine like the full scale Lama.
What kind of flight time are you hoping for?
Should get 20-25 minutes with the setup I have.
I will be anxiously awaiting your build review!!!!

Boyd, do you have the motor already?
Have you run it as I hear the 20XL may run hot and not like what we do with them here.

Yes. I have had the 20XL for sometime and decided it was the motor for the project based on the experiences of a couple E-Shuttles that have been flying for some time now. I did, however, go with a C50 16XL for the Bell 47G project.

Cool Boyd, I didn't think is was a bad motor, maybe just miss-applied.
