I've been looking at an excellent build thread for the Art Hobby Thermic 2.5M sailplane, but now that Santa put one under the tree, the thread seems to be gone! I've searched all the forums for "Thermic" and "Thermik", but I can't seem to find the thread. If you know the link to this thread, can you kindly post it? Thanks!

Hi,
I don't know the thread you are after, but I can give some great tips from when I was building mine before you start. A few to start with cause I can't remember them all at the moment ;)
Watch what size servos you put in the nose for the elevator / rudder. The canopy is very thin as you can see and you will need to drop them down so that they will not interfer with the nose cone slidding on and off. I used HS85's and they were fine once dropped down a bit onto a ply mounting plate.
Also one thing I did was rather than use a pin and a nylon bolt to hold down the wing, I decided to use 2 nylon bolts to hold it down. The choice is yours ;) .
Before gluing the two inner wing panels together I marked where the aileron servo wire tube was on the wings root, epoxied together and then bandaged with a carbon bandage (for strength but mostly for me .... looks. Epoxy and a glass bandage is fine for this sailplane). Then I carefully drilled out the servo wire hole at the root of the wing. MUCH neater.
I have, and have heard of several other builders cutting out flaps. Works well for this plane. BUT not totally necessary and if you just wanna fly then omit them. That is if you have the aileron version, not the RES. In the French review on the Arthobby site, the reviewer cut out flaps too.
That's all I can remember at this early time in the morning  . It's a great sailplane. If you do a search with "thermic" or "JK Thermic" (and I know you have), you see more of my tips and suggestions.
Have fun with it, mate

I just remembered. I remember seeing a Arthobby "Sierra" build thread not long ago. Are you referring to that one by mistake. I've never seen a "thermic" one (but I may be mistaken). BUT it would be GREAT to have someone do one. Hint hint ;)

Well, not a Thermic build thread, but...
I'm currently working on a Falco-V. Doing a little kit bashing as well. It's not exactly what you're looking for but many of the Art Hobby planes use similar construction techniques. It might help a little :)

Be sure to do a build thread whenever you start yours!
