Just Rec'd the BR from QVC and the transmitter won't turn on (fresh out of the box).

The battery is new (9.35 volts says the voltmeter) even tried a second reading in at 9.27 volts.

Has anyone else had a similar problem? I would open and check for solder shorts and such but I if I have to return it I don't want to deal with the hassle.

Just wondering what the Quality control is on these. I would hope they at least have somone checking the LED's when they come off the line.

Is this one of the issues with the BR??

There's been at least one other report of this. The guy opened up the TX case and as I recall he found a blob of solder floating inside and shorting out some contacts. He removed it and it works fine now. Of course you never know, probably wasn't a bad idea to return yours as it could have been a more serious defect.

The Tx's are checked when they com off the line, so the chances are that this is a simple fix. I have seen this once in one of mine Tx's. Then it was a broken wire that I was able to solder back in a few minutes. The Tx is easy to open for a look, and if you do not find the fault, simply put it together and contact ITC, they can tell you if you should return the whole helicopter or if they have spare Tx's.

Maybe Fotta can comment on this.

I opened up the case and took a look.

One of the battery leads came off immediately upon opening the case, I was hoping...praying... To no avail after resoldering the connection.

Even though there were a few solder spikes, no shorts were noted. No severely skewed parts either.

A few of the pads had excess solder which I assume was there to make a connection but might have been the culprit.

Can't wait to get the replacement to fly this baby. I wanted a proxflyer so bad when I first saw one a year or so ago, then to see the BR which was so inexpensive. Even tried to make a copy but we know how that goes, hehe.

I didn't get a call back from ITC so I contacted QVC who said to send it back for a replacement.

Nice looking bird none-the-less!

Anyway thanks for the responses.

Wish I would have poked around in the forum more before having my wife send it back today. I would have probably gotten a quicker answer. Oh well!!
