Set everything up, so damn hard to fly right in fact it doesn't even seem accurate, very odd! Keeps wanting to spin despite setting trim. Also, doesn't seem willing to move forward in a hurry.

Have you done any mod's or is it all stock? There is not much control authority in stock form. If you remove the body, it saves 5 grams off a total weight of 50 grams. It makes a huge difference in responsiveness. If you remove the body, untape the battery and move it as far forward as the wires allow, then tape it again. This will adjust your CG to compensate for the missing body.

For better forward flight, cut the ring off the tail prop. The prop will spin a little faster which increases forward flight speed. Keep in mind that the BR is an indoor flyer though, max flight speed is about a normal walking pace.

There is no gyro in the Balde Runner. You will have to stay on the yaw (rudder) trim and stick through out the flight.

I've handed the Blade Runner TX to people who have never flown anything before. It is that easy to fly. Seasoned RC heli flyers seem to have the most trouble with it as the yaw is on the "wrong" stick :)

Spinning is to blame on the rotor pitch. Change the upper or lower bladepitch to achieve a stable hover.

Thing is it seems so fragile as in you touch it and it will break. Construction for a realitively expensive item could be vastly better I believe.

When I tried it for the first time yesterday I kept crashing it. By the way I'm heavily experienced with the simulated versions and this was nothing like. On the contrary, very hard to get it stable etc.

It's quite robust. I've got over 5 hours of flight time on mine (more than 50 flights). I've run it into something nearly every flight, can't seem to keep off the walls and ceiling :p I've had to repair several blade breaks, but that takes about 10 seconds. I just tape the breaks and it's ready to go again. The worst crash I've had was when I was trying to land on top of the ceiling fan blades ;) It dropped straight down from 9' and hit upside down. It broke a blade right at the hub, that took a few minutes to fix with some C/A.

I'll ask again, have you done any mod's or is it all stock??? See my post #2.

No, no mods, I was thinking about cat cutter though... any good? i.e. It will invalidate warranty so is it worth it over that?

forget the warranty
if you do the cat killer and remove the body you,ll never want to send it back
persevere and have fun

AirWing,
Can you concentrate on the right stick and keep it pointed in one direction for a bit? Use the throttle (left) stick to set the flying height. Gentle changes help here. Ignore forward and backward until you can use the right stick to keep it pointed in one direction. If it constantly spins in one direction, the pitch of the blades may need to be adjusted. If you can't stabilize it, you may want to return it for another esp. if you bought it locally.

Cutting it up is not going to help you fly it. It will increase the overall performance, but will also void the warranty. Best to start with someting that works first.

My 2nd br now and have now done catcutter and despite keeping it level etc it seems to have a mind of its own and drifts. Also backward/forward motion is very slow./unesponsive.
