This is a new kit from McAllister Designs... The THISTLEDOWN

The Thistledown has been featured in the Electric Gliders forum as I developed the design and built the prototypes.

Designed to be a handy sized yet efficient electric thermal soarer is suits the 'Elexaco' duration competition. The Gunthur propellor as pictured is used in the competition but a Graupner 6x3 folding propellor/spinner can be substituted to give better streamlining for sport thermal soaring. The fuselage will take an inline gearbox if that is your preference, or indeed a small brushless. The climb on a basic 7.2v Speed 400 is good though.

Typical flying weight is 13oz with a 7 cell 2/3AA battery pack.

48" WING SPAN for a DIRECT DRIVE '400' MOTOR 7.2v or 6v

All wing ribs, formers, fuselage sides and the main tail components are laser cut. All other wood, wing bolt and motor mounting screws are supplied. Step by step instructions and an accurate CAD drawn plan.

QUALITY LASER CUT KIT only $47.95

DELUXE KIT including Graupner Speed 400 7.2v motor and 'Gunthur' propellor only $60.20
DELUXE KIT with folding propellor option $69.95
(plus Priority Mail S&H and 5% Sales Tax on total for Wisconsin residents)
