It is most excellent. I've had every version of MS Flight Sim since V3 when it was written by the Bruce Artwick Organisation (BAO) - before Microsoft bought them. MSFS2004 is version 9 and it just gets better with every version. There's also some pretty amazing add-ons for scenery and planes to either download or buy (the ones you buy are better quality than the ones just drawn up by "hobbyists" as free downloads).
It does require a pretty reasonable spec PC (and especially graphics card) but as the software has been out since mid 2003 now and we're almost in 2005 the fact is that any recent PC is up to the job.
The only problem with MSFS2004 is that it's just the beginning. Once you have bought the program you then find yourself wanting to buy VFR (photographic) scenery, high quality planes and a better motherboard, CPU, graphics card, more RAM, and above all a decent joystick to make the most of it. I have the Saitek X45 which is perfect for MSFS2004
