In plane that is going to be used for 3D stunts and hovering would it be more stable in a hover if the CG was one fuesilage with in front of the center of pressure of the fuseilage or would that only improve virtical stability when accelerating strait up?

The latter I think.

Hovering stability ought to be a function of the prop at the front and the CG somewhere behind it, plus slipstream over the tail surfaces and ailerons.
