Well can't say I didn't try. I did manage to get the photo off the camera and into "iPhoto" (came with the camera). I selected "Manage Attachments" below and tried to transfer the photo. Failed. It said the photo was above the size limit (it was 1.26MB). Any help would sure be appreciated, thanks.

one other thing i found to transfer pic from the camera. plug it in go into my computer if its windows and look through the drives C:\ D:\ and you will see your camera there. might be labelled something like Kodak if its a Kodak. open it up and scan through the folders either internal memory or memory card and you will see your images. cut paste and there you have it.
Just make sure you only cut /paste images, there are other file on the camera that is needed and they should stay there.
hope those couple of pointers help
Cheers

Try reducing the size of your photo with some sort of "resize" command. I believe the size limit is 100k per photo.

Flystoolow, (and others)
Digital pics have several different attributes that refer to size, Actual file size (which is what you're fighting), Display size, color depth, resolution, compression, etc, etc.
If your digital camera is taking 1.26 MB sized photos their display size is probably something like 2400 x 1600 or something, for files sent to the group 800x600 is probably sufficient, so resizing down to a smaller size like 800x600 is a good start. (Best bet is to resize and then Save As to create a new smaller copy rather permanently downsizing the original).
If you're using Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft has a free powertoy that lets you select any picture on your system and resize them down to common sizes like 800x600.
Otherwise check your existing software for resample or resize to size the original pic down to a proper size.
Here's an example, this pic started as an original 1.1MB 1168 x 1760pixel image, resized with the MSXP Powertoy to 800x600 reduced the file size from 1.1MB to 54kb

Here's something I've noticed: Some cameras don't compress JPEG files very much. I've found that by simply loading a picture into a photo program like LView Pro (http://www.lview.com) and then saving it again, the file size is reduced drastically, even though the picture looks exactly the same on the screen.

You said you are using "iPhoto" - do you have a Mac? That is a key piece of information :)
In iPhoto - go file menu > export > select the "Scale Images . . ." button > 640 x 480 > click export (any other option in this window remains unchanged) > in the save dialogue box choose your desktop or some other easy to locate area and click OK.
This will bring the file size down to about 100k.
