Interested in the Dymond Lo100 garden glider just to have some fun with.
Anyone with some experience with this little bird?

Hi Tigerstrike:
I have one and have reported on it in several other forum threads. I built it per instructions and it weighs less then 5 ounces. It has been aerotowed with a New Timer electric using the releasable tow hook in the nose and has been towed up using the bottom tow hook by someone running. Mine has always come back to the ground very quickly. After some attempts with the standard set-up I went back and sanded the leading edge of the wing to round it some top and bottom. It still sinks way to fast. It is fun as a novelty for aerotow but not much for gliding. I will work with it some more with a friend who is a great thermal pilot to see if we can't get it to fly better. Right now it is a novelty for aerotow only. Like dropping an R/C parachute. It comes down quickly and you can steer it to where you want to go. I beat the tow plane down every time so far. Even when he shuts down the motor and just glides down after I release. I would love to see an entry where someone had real success with this plane because it is cute. Michael Heer

Yes the plane is neat looking, too bad they left fixing the design flaw to us modelers, once we figure it out, they will probably correct the design?????
Thanx for your response, I ordered a Graupner TIPSEY since so many people are having fun with these.

I have a Tipsy and it is a true electric glider. Mine has a 54 minute flight and over half of that was riding thermals with the motor off. If you get Nimh's (I recommend that you do). Be sure to cycle them at least three times before you fly with the plane. They improve greatly after several cycles!! Good Luck Mike
