Hi there, i have just got my bladerunner i set it up and it worked perfectly. The thing is now it needs recharging and for some reason the light on the charger always seems to blink on and off every second. I thought its meant to blink once every 3 seconds. Anyway no matter wot i do it wont charge, does anyone have any pointers or should i send it back for a replacement?

Thanks

Mark

Sorry to say that it sounds like a defective charger or helicopter. ITC will of course honor your warranty...

Hello

I have tested 3 of these in our shop out of our first shippment all 3 experince the same problem. I think you have a big problem with your charging system. I took one of the test units appart pulled the entire cabin off this did help some i guess with better cooling this way. However still only achived 30 sec flight time tops... on 2 of my units the 3rd unit has power and flys for about 2 or 3 min however you can't keep it from turning around and around full trim and full deflection and still keeps rotating.

The unit I took the cabin off I decided to charge that battery with a real charger. I used the astroflight 109 and it charged fine the heli will fly for about 2 to 3 min now. Not sure but I think this maybe a stinker....

I received 75 in my first order and the first 3 I opened were bad not a good ratio at this point I am afraid to open another and I am also afraid to sell them to our customers. I just hope that the customers that have bought them from us will be taken care of by Interactive. I have a feeling that I will have a 97% return and that is because I opened 3 myself.

I hope I am wrong perhaps I got the 3 bad ones out of the whole container.

Thanks

I am returning mine... This sucks, I would not recommend air-tech to anyone, nor would I buy any of there other products at this point.

This is a pretty simple helicopter design... why is the product so crappy?

This is not good, and as you say, hopefully they do not all have the same problem. To me your problem seems like something you should talk directly to Frank at ITC (Fotta) about.

Don't know if your battery is bad or not, but here's how I see it.... Can't expect much from a battery of any product following this latest trend of re-charging by connecting to transmitter. Though that isn't actually the problem, the problem is time: Say your car battery is dead because your alternator is shot, and you have five errands that must get done that day... Put a battery charger on it for a half hour then go take care of the that first errand. Then you're off to number two. Or you will be after however long it takes you to get a jumpstart from someone because you shut the car off. Don't feel bad, just a habit, it's what we do when we get out of our cars, right? Now you should definately have self esteem issues if, even though you successfully completed your errands that day, it took three more jumpstarts to do so. In a situation like that a person should have charged the battery to full capacity before starting their errands, and they wouldn't even have to worry about not turning the car off. Heck, that's how I've been running my car the past three months.
Bought my Bladerunner day before yesterday and threw the charger away without ever even using it. Had never planned to in the first place. Nor the battery... Knew the chopper would be easy to fly by most anyone simply because of the whole principle behind dual rotors, and knew it would fly because I saw the website video. So as soon as it was out of the box I was slicing off the body then removing the battery. Haven't got down to serious experimentation & tests yet... but the battery I put in, simply because it happened to be within arms reach, works great with no problems. Don't have a maximum run time yet though because of interruptions from people and the three house cats stalking the chopper, but do know it's well over half an hour of actual flight so far and between 4 to 9 minutes sporadically at low to mid throttle while being held in a vise so I could study all moving parts up close while in motion.
I've went on long enough. Hope you get things working right or fixed so you can start enjoying this little chopper. Not as nice as it could easily have been done... but better than any others out there for the inexperienced flyer or those on small budgets. And when compared to everything (orig price, constant/reaccuring costs for maintence, total time actually enjoying flying & time spent just trying to get it to fly right, etc) involved with having one of the expensive choppers... I think getting to fly it at manufacturer stated runtime length (lame) only ten times before the thing wore out would be well worth the purchase price.

Do we need an RMA before we return the BR? I am having the same issues with charging on another BR I just picked up, the LED just randomly flashes, the same way it does when its not connected to anything. So have been calling ITC to see if I need an RMA but keep playing phone tag, however if I don't need an RMA then will just send it.

thanks.

I took the body off today and had a look at it I've got her charging correctly now. Its the connector on the charging cable it works if i hold in in just the right position i'll probably change it out for like a simple 2 pin design like a jumper on a pc board i would think that just 2 metal pins would be a bit lighter than the 2 that are housed in the plastic connection anyway

erics1611 - yeah, you need to get an RA. You can call Andrea at ext. 122 and she will help you out.

This is not necessarily meant for the above posts.. I'm sure everyone posting has the power switches off. Others with this problem should be sure the switch on the Bladerunner and the transmitter is off. Also some people have fixed this problem by slightly bending the male charger pins on the Bladerunner away from the board. It seems that this improves the contact with the charging cable. By all means use a non conductive tool (plastic etc) to do this and do not short the pins together.

What is the trick to getting ITC to return my emails, phone calls or what have you.

I have purchased 4 BR's and have only used one, and it doesn't appear to be working properly. Having read all that has been posted, I believe that it is defective and wish to get an RA number, but no one has returned my calls or emails.

I am not going to open the other BR until I see how the company handles the first one. I see where people have recieved good service, but I am not receiving the same good service.

So if anyone from ITC is interested, how about emailing me, or letting me know how to get in touch and I don't mean calling the number and entering the extension 122, 114, and others only to get a voice mail recording for the 16th time and no one returning my call.
