I have been building r/c boats/ships for a number of years and they do come out nice. my question is what is good to use as a filler, bareing glass resin, for wood like cabins so the wood grain dose not show when painted? is there a spray?
Thanks for any help

I've used epoxy finishing resin, sanding sealer, varnish, and lacquer with good results. Other than the finishing resin, all come is spray cans.

CG Bob's tip is probably a good choice... Having very little experience with epoxy myself, for the boat I'm building which is mainly plywood over foam and balsa wood (i.e. fairly distinctive grain pattern), I intend to very finely sand the plywood first, then blow or brush away all dust, etc, and then apply three coats of polly, allowing each coat to dry completely before the next and using a pair of light cloth gloves (not heavy types) all the while so that I won't touch anything with bare fingers. These three coats of polly should give a good basis for a tough, glass-like end result. After the polly however, I will then apply at least three light coats of either white or very light gray primer, again, allowing each coat to set fully and using the gloves all the while. Finally will come two or three light coats of topcoat, either metallic or high gloss... All of this will hopefully hide completely the wood grain as well as giving thorough waterproofing and good cosmetic results. Don't know if this helps.
