Hey Guys

I got my Bladerunner yesterday. I've flown it about 5 times, and today the tail motor stopped working and a burnt stench came from the cabin. I opened up the back of it to see if I could take a look and I couldn't see anything. Does opening it up void the warranty?

The main rotors still work, but there is no tail action. Is there an ESC for the tail, and if there is could it have blown? I wasn't doing anything other than what's to be expected out of it. Also, if the motor died is there anywhere I could get replacments? I have some motors from my ZipZap toy car thingy and they look the same size.

I want to get this thing going for Sunday! Indoor fly - in time!

Thanks for any help!

I'm not really qualified to answer that one, but I'd say the tail's ESC fried. Did the motor seize up (stop rotating)? There are three ESCs in the BladeRunner, one for each main motor and one for the tail.

Unless you can pick up another heli, I'm afraid your out of luck for the weekend.

You may be able to get the parts you need from http://pgoelz.com/bladerunner/bladerunner_spare_parts.html . The 27MHz board (assuming yours is on that frequency) may be what you need; I'd e-mail Paul (address is on the website) and ask first just to be sure.

Since you just purchased it, I think you should return it and get another one. It shouldn't have gone bad so quickly.

Thanks for the info! I'll try to return it, and if that doesn't work I'll try to get another board for it.

Cam - certainly sounds like a warranty issue. We'll replace it for you if you like. I hope that you understand that officially, I cannot advise you to open up the body. Liability issues and all that sort of thing...

Thanks! I didn't take the body off, it was just that I smelled smoke and did not want it to remain in the body so I slit the tape at the back and cut it off. There isn't very much off of it.

Thanks again!
