Thank you to RC Groups for setting up this discussion forum dealing with the BladeRunner helicopter.
My name is Frank Otta and I manage Interactive Toy Concepts. I will be happy to help BladeRunner owners or persons interested in the heli, in any way that I can. Happy hovering...

Welcome, Frank! It's always nice to talk to real live people from the companies that make R/C products.
I'm a proud owner of an original B-2 Stealth and just received a purple/green BladeRunner in the mail today. :D

Welcome Frank
Thank you for setting up this dedicated Bladerunner forum. I hope to be able to give some additional technical help and advice to Bladerunner owners around the world myself.

WOW,
Great to have a dedicated forum for the ITC Bladerunner heli.
Welcome Frank and of course Petter.
I'm happy to say I've just completed burning the CD with the article/review I did on this remarkable toy. It will be submitted to Rotory Magazine in the next day and my hope/plan is that it will be printed in the March/April 05' issue.
Thanks to Petter and the folks at ITC for bringing such a kewl model to light.
I've been enjoying the BR for weeks now! AND I'll help here where I can.

Best regards,

Welcome Frank and Petter. I was wondering when this would happen. Following that umpteen page thread was impossible. I've been flying a no body, cat killer, 350mah, for 2 months now and love it. When I had a chance to buy more at $50 I picked up 2 more. It's a great toy for keeping my thumbs tuned up when I can't go outside and fly sailplanes.

Frank,
I got one under the Airtech label BR, I bought it ata Safeway( a grocery chain store). Anyway, I have fly it about 5 cycles, the lipo only can give about 60-80 seconds of lifting power and each flight can only last 25-30 second before the motor fade out. Have to land and restart again. Is there something rong with 1) the motor and /or the 2) lipocell?

Do any of you know if any one has tried a 600 mah LiPoly battery in the BladeRunner and if any one know I was wondering what the Empty 8 pin SMD spot on the BR board was for? Thanks !

bhchan, it sounds like you have an early production model. My first one was like that. I would recommend returning it if you can. You should consistently get a minimum of 1-2 minutes per flight, and longer on new ones. Others have said the battery is the source of the problem; newer units feature a different battery.
Linker: I would think that battery would be too heavy for the BladeRunner, but that's just my uneducated opinion. I believe the Kokam 340 is the most popular aftermarket battery at this point, and a Thunder Power one is catching on as well. I have no idea what the spot is about.

A 600 mAh li-po seems a little too much. Try to keep the total weight below 48 gram. The 8 pin SMD position is for a unused amplifier in the RF part.

I don't own one (yet) but I find it very interesting to read the posts about an rc helicopter for under $100.00 that has everybody so stirred up about it. I guess I'll have to order one for my son of course lol, just to see what all the hoopla is about. Besides I have an extra kokam 340 that needs a purpose.

As Terry.CX pointed out above, a forum dedicated to the Bladerunner was just a matter of time. Again, thanks to RCGroups for being good enough to provide this area for discussion of the Bladerunner. I certainly believe that it would be best if all discussion was to take place in this one central location rather than spread out over many R/C forums. Of course, as a representative of the manufacturer, I cannot place posts in other forums suggesting this.

Do any of you know if the BladeRunner can fly with out its Tail Boom? Rebalanced of-corse.
Thanks Again!

Forward and backward flight are controlled by the tail motor. It's out on the end of the boom so that it can lift (or lower) the tail and alter the "attack angle" of the blades to cause forward movement. So you really can't remove the tail boom.
Now you can remove the tail boom on the Hirobo XRB SR because it uses a swash to change flight direction.

The difference is the bodycolor. White/blue or purple/green are the ones you want. And that I want, actually, but the europeans arnt having any of it, and its impossible to import em.. :(

In fact Firebox (UK) will be getting the blue ones in about 2 weeks.

yeah, probably for around 150 frikkin dollars, Just like the old one they are currently selling.. The Bladerunner is this expencive everywhere in the UK for some messed up reason.. They are generally priced in the range of 65 and 120 Pounds over there...
I would be atleast 50% cheaper off importing a $70 costing BR + $35 shipping from the USA wich is on the other side of the planet, instead of buying one from the UK.... If only I had the chance to.. :(

I would like to ask Mr Otta if there is a production problem with the helicopter hand controller? Mine worked 1 time. I followed the instuctions to the T as how to recharge, making sure everything was just so. Hope to have a new one soon. It looked so promising. Hope to clear up this problem...the remote that controls the heli will not work. It has no green light...nothing..kaput.

It might be helpfull if youd say what exactly stopped working. Does the transmitter light come on? Or are the blades not spinning? The second one might be that the speed controller needs to be calibrated again. push the throttle stick down completely, and turn on the transmitter. Then turn on the bladerunner. Move the throttle stick up and down twice. The bladerunner should now activate itself.
This is needer when the bladerunner has been powered down for a long period of time.

Hi Petter! Its cool to actually have the designer of my fav toy here to help me... my tail motor seems not to be working... it didn't work since I first got it, do you think I could take it back? I've flown it happily without it, but its really just hovering... so would you say that I would be able to return it?
Freakazoid

I think you can return it, because it could be a factory error.
What you should try first though, is to give full forward on your remote, and give the tail propellor a little nudge. With new motors it sometimes happens that the brushes are to tight to get it to spin on its own. If it starts spinning when you give it a little nudge, leave it running for a minute, then run it another minute in the other direction. This will "seat" your motors brushes so it ll run smoothly.
