Hi,
I have a Sig Ultimate Fun Fly profile airplane that I crashed quite some time ago. The bottom wing was really the only thing damaged, but it's completely destroyed. I got the urge to tinker with the plane and started to try to convert it to a low-wing airplane. The servos and radio equipment are all in the bottom wing, so I relocated the throttle, rudder, and elevator servos to the fuselage. I put a single servo in the center of the top wing to control the ailerons. Tomorrow I'm planning on fiberglassing the top wing to the underside of the fuselage and trying to fly it.
I don't have much aerodynamics experience...so what exactly is going to happen?

hi

first of all the plane will be faster due to reduced drag and the new higher wing loading

you will have to watch the stall as its going to hapen earlier when landing

you will have to re calculate the c of g as its very unlikely that its in the same place

also have you any way of checking the wing incidence as this will also affect the way it flies, some biplanes have different incidence angles on the top and bottom wing

also you might have problems with the size of the tail areas as they were designed for a biplane with twice the wing area

I once altered a simple low wing plane to be high wing, and it never flew that well again

all the best and good luck
