I have a T-Maxx that won't go forward or reverse when started, any help
would be appreciated.

Some more details about your situation would help a lot...like have you
run it successfully before this problem arose? How many times? Is it a
brand new truck or something you've hammered pretty good? Has it sat
around for a long time between runs? Just off the top of my head, I'd
say first check your transmitter and on board batteries. Failing that,
check the lock screws on the shift linkage arm. There are some other
possibilities, but without better info, it's hard to analyze.

Just to be clear, a T-Maxx does not go forward or reverse when
started. There are at least two clutches that make it sit there until
you give it gas.
If it will rev but not move, I'd suspect spur/clutchbell mesh, missing
axle pins, stripped yokes, or maybe a hosed tranny OWB. 90% of the
time it's the gear mesh.
If you've fixed some bulkhead crash damage lately one of the diffs
could be in upside down (lift off ground to test).

yes it has been ran before with no problems. I believe that it ran of course
and into some tall weeds and got stuck, back wheels were spinning then the
engine stopped. After starting it kinda jerks back a little.

Clutch shoes could be glazed if it revved up in the weeds, it could be
idling too high which will keep the shift fork from moving f/r
properly.
Shift it forward-reverse-forward with the engine *off* and then start
it and see what it does. If it works then I'd say the idle was too
high.

sounds to me like your main drive gear is toast
inspect your pinion gear
then the spur gear is it meshing with pinion gear
are any teeth missing?
if that's not your problem
turn your transmitter/receiver on
then try shifting from reverse to forward
look to see if your shifter is moving/engaging
still can't find the problem?
whip out the screwdriver and begin with the center drive housing
