I posted this also in foamies because some people had asked about them, Any merit to this build. I could get it taxiiing and it would come to a complete stop,( forward motion) The Gyro was turning so fast that it shot my finish nails out the tips(balance) I think if I would of had a brushlees I would of had better luck. I could rotate the rotor head forward or aft with the gear controls on my transmitter. D

Yes, I bought the gyroraptor from Rich and he sold me an extra set of blades for experimentation. I haven't tried this proto with brushless yet. I haven't spent enough time studying thrust angles for gyro and pusher. Maybe someday. D

Looks like you rotor angle is too far back. Is it that far back when your system is powered up and the servo is centered? Try setting the rotor angle to 8 degrees. This will give you a longer take off run and allow the model to gain some forward speed.
Just a thought by looking at the photo.

iwadmin- It was not usually that far back, I stripped the servos off of it when I couldn't get rog. The pushrod is just stuck in the foam to hold the rotor up for pictures. This gyro has 1" of dust on it. I love the priciple of a gyro, They are just so much more touchy compared to conventional aircraft.
I'm guessing since I have forward/aft pich control that The airframe should be level and possibly nose down a couple degrees.
What kind of down pitch do I need on the pusher?
Thanks for any help. Doug

Pushers are setup differently than tractor models (5 degrees down). Not real sure what the recommended degree of thrust would be for a pusher. I did come accross a page which had info on the pushers. If I can locate it again I will certainly post it here for you.
