Electric Outboards?

Other than Hobby-lobbys 2 offerings, are there any other sources for electric outboards for runabout type boats. I know MRC offered one in their Tunnel boat kit not to many years ago. Is that unit available somewhere? Thanks in advance.

Kyosho and Graupner offer outboards yet, MRP is kaput as far as I know. There are some that offer a conversion kit for the K&B OB lower units.

There is a new outboard motor by Hobbico. It is for their new Bass Boat model which you can see at Tower.

Thanks Ron and Kmot. I appreciate the replys. I see that tower will be selling the Kyosho unit again and will soon be offering the Hobbico unit from their Bass boat model as well. I remember years ago there being something about useing the K&B lower unit for a conversion. One of the fellas in our club mentioned it long ago. I also remember haveing an article about it, but cant find it now after all these years. If anyone finds any reference for that conversion please note it here for all of us to view. Also if either of you find any web sites on these things, i would be very appreciative to hear about them. Thanks again fellas.

If your looking on the scale side, http://www.alterscale.com/ has a few, some people have used them in rc boats, but i don't think they would give you much compared to some of the others on the market.

Thanks fellas...I have been looking off and on at a runabout type design and wondered what was available out there for electric outboards. I have checked all that you have suggested here and there seems to be more comeing down the pike. Looks good for those in the future wanting to do this type modeling. Thanks again.

Thanks James...i did a search for all posts concerning "Outboards" before i posted, so i had read that one already. Thanks again. Looks like i either machine what i want to some degree, or wait for the "Chinese , or other asian companys to get into the throng! LOL!!!! I like stiring the pot!!!!
