Wolfgang and his team make an excellent simulator but I want to add my Bantam to the collection of planes. I have downloaded the model design program but the manual is in German.

I had my chance to learn German at school but didn't, more fool me.

I have access a good digital camera, I can use photoshop to crop, cut and edit photos. What comes next? Has there been a thread in the past that explains all? (Searched and could not find one)

Any hints and tips and offers of translation would be welcomed.

Is it easier to modify a similar plane or start from scratch? I am thinking that I could modify the F-86 sabre .mop by chopping the tail off

I'm wondering aobut the same thing. I did take german in school but I still only understand half of it. :D

You can download a manual from the Reflex website at www.reflex-sim.de if you register there.

EDIT:
I just downloaded it and it just explains how to take pictures of your model to use in the software.

I have the German version and I am now half way thrugh a Babelfish aided translation.

I will check if Wolfgang is happy for me to share it will RC groups.

There are a couple of wierd bits of translation that I need help with. I think they are Technical German speak which Babel can't cope with.

It starts off with take photos from all sides without the use of flash. roughly cropped them and make a collage in bmp format which needs to be stored in somewher accessible

Here is a roughly translated version. Still not the easiest to understand, but got me started.

That will do nicely thank you, I can concentrate on designing now rather than translating.

Hello model builder, see also this (http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=294391) and this (http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=294766). The more we are the better. :)

Robert,

Welcome to the club. As you'll read in those other threads, Burkhard has answers for every problem you're likely to encounter in making a model with RMK but if you do have any questions also feel free to PM me cos I now think I have a pretty fair understanding of how to use RMK (turns out that it is a pretty smart, well thought out program once you understand the way it handles things - it is QUITE different to making models in Metasequoia if you've ever tried that to make FMS models!)

BTW it is far easier to start from scratch with your own photo "3 views" than it would be to try and modify an existing model and map your textures onto it.

I have a human English translation. It is not on the Web yet, but I can send as a .ZIP file via email. Contact me at kmyersefo@aol.com if you'd like me to send the English translation to you. It also contains a few tips and hints.
