How do I search for new post since last visit?

I'd like to search for new posts on the forums that I'm following (Batt & Charger, Power, Foamies etc.) since my last visit. I tried the "new posts" menu but this gave me new posts on ALL forums. I tried putting * in the advanced search but no success.

Any suggestions?

Subscribe to the threads you want to follow. Use the "Thread Tools" button at the top of each thread.

Ooops. I re-read your question. You want new posts in a particular forum, not in a thread.

Use the "Search" button at the top of the page. Click "Advanced Search". Scroll down to Search Options. Select your forum on the right. Select your preference in "Find posts from" on the left.

Do what phat23 said and also select the total forums you want, all at once. On my Mac I can 'command' click on different forums and they are the only ones that will get selected. If you are using a windows pc there must be an equivalent.

I tried this on the advanced search.

- Type * on the search keyword (also tried 'blank')
- Select on the forums that I want to follow (used CTRL key to select)
- Select "From your last visit" on the Find Post Post options. ( I also tried "Yesterday" )

The search simply returned "Please specify some words or valid user names to search on. There were no matches for those that you specified.

I believe it's been requested many times. Myself about a year ago. The answer was "it's not going to happen", due to resource requirements.

Every time you login, new posts in any particular forum are highlighted with a bold title and http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/images/buttons/firstnew.gif thingey. This works okay, though it does have the drawback that it considers all threads read when you logoff, whether you actually viewed a thread or not.

Strange, I thought it would take as much resource as clicking the "New Posts" menu.
