The RCGroups Fast-Electric Races...

Hi... First of all, all of the following is ment in the best possible way with no disrespect to RC Groups in any way.
Does anyone remember the late 1970's cartoon 'The Wacky Races'? This is sad, but I used to allways watch it.
There were characters like 'Dick Dasterdly & Mutley', 'Lady Penelope Pitstop', 'The Anthill Brothers', and others... :D Well I had a dream last night (yea, I know...), about 'The RCGroups Fast-Electric Races' (for boats) - a once-yearly event complete with a comentator who speaks just like the one in the cartoon. The venue would have to be a very big lake I guess. Any ideas, suggestions. Cheers :)

thats funny stuuf...i wasnt alive quite yet in 70s but i remember seein quite a few of those....weird to think they were actually entertaining at one point in our lives...lol

I think it is Cartoon Network that's repeating it. My youngest daughter watches it all the time.

Sure - I was just about around in the late 70's, but it always had me in stitches. The characters in it and what the cartoon was about anyway just made me think of the idea. The event could even be televised - it would get huge ratings on the 'real life' channels :D . And the Wacky Races still being on is interesting. As far as I know, it hasn't been on where I am for years, but then I wouldn't really know as I'm too old to watch that sort of show any more :rolleyes: Cheers

that sound pretty cool have a wacky race have scratch built boats that design after cartoons no hydros or rigger designs and limit that size and motor size just have a good old fun wacky race. Maybe untested designs only.

That's a good idea - I like it... There could be a mixture of designs - and the thing I'm building would probably go into the 'untested design' category at best...

Partly true (probably...) - or because I go to the land-of Nod too early before I eat! Ye know - originally, even before I joined rcg, I was going to get a pre-made hull but then I thought, 'No!' I'll make it all myself from scratch and save money - what a mystake that was, in other words my diminishing bank balance aint helping either, so the '..... fast electric races' would be a good distraction...
