Has any one made their on DIY version of a on board glow system. The cheapest one I can find is $60 bucks. I read one article about a simple c-cell battery hooked up to a switch but when I tried it, it wouldn't make a glow plug glow red hot like my starter does(and my starter is a c-cell starter????)
As you can tell I know very little about electronics but I can always learn :D

Your SubC cell starter has direct connection with the plug, a remote cell will have less voltage (=less glow) when connected through thin wires. using thicker wires will help as this reduce resistance thus less voltage is lost.

Thanks I'll try that I was just using the thin wires that come on one of the RS battery trays. It would make the glow plug smoke a little but not glow .
