Hi!
Anyone out there who knows how to build a simple rcswitch? I need it for controlling landinglights in one of my planes. I need to controll 2 Xenonlights, 4,8V 0,8A each.

Thanks!

Have a look on my web. (http://myweb.absa.co.za/eric.brouwer/pic's.htm) . It's a dual RC switch used for landing and navigation lights.

thanks a lot! I'll be back with pics and maybe a video when I'm done.

Do you have any instructions for the build? I'm quite lack of experience! :D
If I got it right I'm suposed to program the IC (?) with a PC interface. But I'm not sure how to run the .hex-file. Guess I need some kind of compilator but where do I find that. Instructions would be great!
Thanks!

Here is a simple circuit I've used for switching a smoke pump and an onboard glow system.

AndyOne,

I thought that you would definitely need to use some sort of micro-controller or RC specific IC to be able to decode signals from the Rx?
Apparently you manage to do with simple logic gates?

Hi,

if you are still interesting, take a look at my web page. There is an R/C switch without microcontroller.

Brauer,

I know you said you would like to build your own but Dimension Engg. has a product called R/C Lights for under $15.

Do a search of this forum, this subject has come up time and time again. You'll find plenty of alternatives from PIC based to some using descrete components. If you want to build Eric's twin switch then I'm sure he would send you a pre-programmed PIC if you covered the postal costs
