I have been tying to layup a inlet duct and I want a smooth finish. I tried to just use the purple plastic without Peel Ply, I got a Mess. Is there something like PeelPly I could use that would give me a smooth finish? Or is a Peel Ply finish smooth enough for the inside of a inlet duct?

Peel Ply is a fabric (nylon, teflon coated glass, etc.), so it is not going to give you a smooth surface. Non pourous release film (polyethylene, polyester, Mylar(tm), etc.) will give a smooth surface.

For inlet ducts, normally male molds (or plugs) are used so that the inside gets the smooth finish.

I guess i am so use to doing female mold layups, that I try to incorperate everything that way. I'll give it a try.
