It hooked up easily to my old Dell computer and it worked just fine. AFP worked with my Evo 12, and it gives me the option to assign channels just as I would with my Evo. So far I am pleased with it and I am still learning all that it can do.

Just got hooked up and I thought I would give you a report. Much better that RealFlight G2.

Now I have to see what free downloads are available!!!

Hi Henry -

I got my Aerofly Pro last week and now I'm waiting for my new Dell Ultimate Multimedia PC. It had better work. Do you disable th RF board on the EVO when it's hooked up to the PC? Did the connector that came with AFP work on the EVO?

Congrats, Henry. Glad you like it. Let us know how it's coming along.

Ron;

The Evo gets disabled when it is turned on with AFP, but you have access to everything the Evo can do. I just set up a ACRO and calibrated the servos on AFP, and I got it up and running. By the way, I am are starting to modify some of the planes to get better performance. One thing I need to read over is how to set up a glider for towing or on a high start? I have to read how to do it in the manual.

I forget who said it, but the RF board gets disabled so there is nothing to worry about.

Brad can you give me any hints about how to set a glider, or should I go to the OMP site to learn how.

AFP performs great and I look forward to seeing all that it has to offer.

Got to get back to AFP and see what new things I can discover.

Guys I figured out how to get the aero tow to work after going through the manual, and now I got it working. Man is it simple, it tells me all that I have to do is read the manual and it is really simple.

The contest mode works great although, I didn't burst many balloons with the first couple of tries. Also I really enjoyed the pylon race, it is a much better prospective with AFP, than Real Flight G2. You get a much better prospective with AFP, whatever mode it is in.

Can you over ride the key commands and do gear up or tow release with the EVO etc...? Putting the gear up seems to work like the real thing. I can't seem to find it in the manual. I would much rather do it with my Evo, but for now the commands are great.

Oh! What I have been having the most fun with is carrier landings. The 747 is almost the easiest to land on a carrier, because it is so much bigger and easier to spot.

Man this is fun!!!

Wish that I could help you, Henry. I've never even tried the glider function.

Maybe I should someday.

Brad;

I have it pretty much figured out but, I still have to determine if I have my Evo set up right with all the mixes. I am not sure if I should use the key commands or setting it all up on my Evo? The key commands would be a lot simpilar, but I have to remember all of them and maybe setting up the Evo would be simpilar.

It is all fun and I am enjoying it so far.

Is your EVO synthesized?

Svo;

I have the synthesized version of the Evo 12 and the scanner also, and it is working without a hitch.

I increased the resolution and it seems to be working just fine. I have since discovered how to do almost everything that AFP has to offer, except for deleting and a modified airplane. Another thing I did was duplicate an aircraft without know how and it is similar to the second tow aircraft used for launching a glider. But it is only on one scene and not others. As I said, AFP is very simple to use and this is coming from a non computer person. I guess I will have to go through the manaul again to see how to delete a particular aircraft, but I can't seem to find it.

So now I've got a new Dell with a 2.8ghz Pentium 4 w/ HT tech and an nVidia 128mb DDR GeForce 5200 graphics card and Aerofly Pro runs like it's in molasses. REALLY, really slow.

The only thing I can figure is that the graphics card is not up to it or that I have to get it running with OpenGL which I know nothing about. How do I get OpenGL? I found the site but I couldn't figure out how to determine what and which to download and how to install it.

Can anyone help me out? Where to look for advice, guruidance? Thanks.

Ron;

Did you go to the options tab and try to boost the processing speed? Mine was initially on the lowest speed and I just increase to 1028 x 680 (I forget what the numbers actually were but you get the idea).

The Dell computer you have is way faster than mine is, I have a old Dell Dimension 4100 with a 1 ghz processor and a 40 GB hard drive, and I forget what my graphics card is, but I am sure it isn't as good as your is. Try increasing the resolution until you get it adjusted the way you want. Mine was initially slow but when I adjusted it right, it was fine and without stutter. Sorry about not knowing all the right computer terms, but mine is running just fine.

Hi Henry -

I've since gotten my AeroFly Pro to work fine and then lost it. When I downloaded the expansion vol.1, it refused to boot even after reloading and removing and reloading and downloading patches and updates. It's just a blank spot on my new computer at the moment.

Ron - I'm thinking about getting exactly the same Dell computer setup as you describe, and was bummed when you said it ran like molasses. But you said you got it to work fine (then had other problems). When it was working how was the response and graphics?

Thanks.
