Guys,
I would really like to get Reflex XTR. Do you think it will run well on my laptop for now (I am getting a new desktop soon).
My laptop:
IBM Thinkpad T40
1.6 GHz Pent M
1 GB RAM
ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 w/ 32 MB
Direct X 9.0c
XP Pro SP2
Thanks for the input!!

HA! I have the exact same laptop (2Gig Ram here)....I work for IBM and its the most recent standard for those of us in sales....T41's are going out now, and there are more on the way.
Hope someone knows. I do know that G2 runs on the laptop! Works great.

Just looked at the specs - it *SHOULD* based on their specs. Minimum Req: 256M Ram, 1 Gig HD, 1.2G CPU, 32M video card, Direct X 8.1+.

Sure wish there was a demo of it so I could see how it runs.
Can you return something like that if it does not run?

I don't know. I'm reading now where someone d/l'd the demo, but I'm not sure where they got it from . If you find out, please let me know. I"ll do the same and let you know if I find it.
Thanks

You can't exactly download a demo but see my post #8 in this thread:

I saw another post where a support person for Reflex asked a person to send them a "DXDIAG" report and they would tell them if it would work on thier PC. I sent a DXDIAG from my T40 last night and I'll keep you posted when they let me know.

Buckey29,
I got my hands on a copy of XTR so I will load it up and try out the demos (that's all I can do without their interface).
I will let you know how it runs.

Buckey29,
OK..here are the results.
WINDOW MODE:
1400 x 1080 x 32 w/ v-sync: 12 - 50
1400 x 1080 x 32 w/o v-sync: 23 - 50
**Window mode did not look as good as full screen mode.
FULL SCREEN MODE:
800 x 600 x 32 w/ v-sync: 50 fps
800 x 600 x 32 w/o v-sync: 50 fps
1024 x 768 x 32 w/ v-sync: 38- 50 fps
1024 x 768 x 32 w/o v-sync: 50 fps
1280 x 1024 x 32: w/ v-sync: Would not run. Got error message.
1280 x 1024 x 32: w/o v-sync: Would not run. Got error message.
1400 x 1080 x 32 w/ v-sync: 31- 50 fps
1400 x 1080 x 32 w/o v-sync: 31 - 50 fps
-I really do think that it will run fine in full screen mode. I have always been under the impression that you can't tell the difference between 30 fps and 100 fps since most people cannot see more than 30 fps.
**There is some strange error where every time I run one of the demo flights and then exit the program I get a message saying it cannot find the graphics cards (if my German is right) and quits. I have to reinstall the program to get things working again.
Config:
IBM Thinkpad T40
1.6 GHz Pent M
1 GB RAM
ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 w/ 32 MB (latest drivers)
Direct X 9.0c
XP Pro SP2

Theo - sent you a PM but your testing is encouraging. I'd be happy with 1024x768.
Maybe ping the mfg with your tests to see if they can confirm anything? I know they haven't replied to my email tothem with the DXDIAG info.
