Astro Flight 805K 05 ducted fan motor

Does anyone know how this motor performs, or will perform in the Kyosho F-16 compared to the stock 29L or the Hackers , Aveox, Jeti, ETC. units? I'm curious if the cost of the foreign motors with speed controls are comparable in price and performance to the Astro 805K with speed control. Has anyone hopped up an F-16 (Kyosho)?

Kontronik FUN480-33 + SMILE40-6-12 ESC (40A,6-12cells and BEC) cost roughly US$210 sphipped from overseas Germany. This motorcombo will work like a charm on 8-10cells in the Kyosho fan.

Another combo which is a little milder is the Kontronik FUN480-28 with SMILE40 w/BEC which cost ~US$190 shipped. Works good on 10-12 cells.

www.nesail.com in the US will try to match the prices on Kontronik stuff so they might be able to offer you a good deal on those.

Hacker,Aveox and Plettenberg all have motors that will work - its just a matter of chosing the right one. Jeti/Mega do not fit physically.

Thanks Haldor, I've got an F-16 waiting under the workbench till I decide what to power it with. I really Like this size of aircraft-fits in with the kids bikes and doesn't bother the wife to much.I've been flying glow WWII for along time and want to get going with small EDF -maybe start with decent brushless power so it doesn't fall out of the sky so easy.Heh,Heh!Any more info you have or any one else would really be appreciated.

Allen,I've been trying to post this question everywhere I can possibly get feedback.I think I got it over at EDF forum at your place as well.Thanks for mentioning it.-The wife keeps asking me why I can't use "one of those other motors you have"(glow)She just does'nt understand the"research of aviation"that I tell her I'm doing.She keeps insisting I'm playing with toys,I keep telling her I' m researching and studying flight.I wonder how she would like an OS 32 SX on her blender.HMMM Iwonder how her blender motor would work in my F-16.
