Hi all, can anyone shine any light on why my OS91Cspec running 30% cool
power with an Enya 3, fails to run for more than about 60 seconds before it
cuts out dead with no warning, would it be a fuel problem as in it being too
rich as there is alot of smoke?

Is the grub screw in the bottom of the pump adjustable?

I don't have any personal experience with the C-spec, but, I've flown a
number of YS engines on 30% Cool Power. One thing that's consistent with
30% Cool Power is that you're going to have a "plenty" of smoke, even if the
engine is running on the lean side.

Given the symptoms you mention, I'm recommend that you "richen" the mixture
as a start. Maybe even go overboard a little to begin with. then
"gradually" lean it back out until you're making power again. I know
you've got a lot of smoke which is leading you to think that you're Ok on
the mixture but if the C-spec is anything like the YS engine's I've flown,
that's not necessarily the case.

One other thing. I've found that #3 Enya glo plugs "do not" like being run
lean. If you have taken the engine too lean for a couple of flights, it's
likely you've fried the glo plug. I'd put a fresh one in the engine before
you start from scratch on the mixture adjustments, if you decide to take my
advise.

Good luck & Fly Safe,
Steve R.

Check the fuel feed system too I would. Could be getting fuel sucked in
during the start sequence then no more?

Don't piss about with the pump, just screw in the mid range needle 'til it
hits bottom. Try again and let us know the outcome.
