Hi all, just registered a few days ago and wanted to say hello.

I am a self taught flyer that started out with a Gentle Lady sail plane, PT electric 05, a Ace .09 trainer, then moved to a Ace GLH with a .049 TeeDee and ailerons and finished it out with a stright wing fully symetrical airfoil plane with a YS45 and tuned pipe. I flew that plane for about a year when I ran out of time to fly.

Now that I have several children and the oldest is nearing 3 I have been taking her to the local R/C flying field and she loves it. We have gone every weekend for the last couple months, and after watching the planes the bug has bitten once again... I decided to pull out my stash and start cleaning it up.

Not wanting to remember how to fly on my nice 45 plane I decided to chop the polydehiedral wing section off of the Gentle Lady and add a Cox TeeDee .09 to the nose. What I ended up with was a Gentle Lady with 41" wing span.

The first flight was out of control.. even the slghtes up elevator would make her loop.... fortunatly I only had a little fuel in it and i was able to hold on untill the motor died... it glided perfectly without power.

After a few days I decided to try again but I added 2 or 3 degrees of down thrust to the motor... Yesterday was a bit windy, but she flew great!!! I few her 3 times and it was a blast!

BTW. I fly on our farm, Next year I might join the local club so I can take out
my nice plane on wheels... for now I am going to build a .25 size SPAD with no landing gear so I can belly land in the grass.

a plane like that flies just fine with an .049 so it must be a total blast with the .09! now i know what to do with that crusty old sig riser that's been collecting dust.

Well it was pretty fast... not as fast as I remember my old Ace GLH (Goes Like He**) with a TeeDee .049. But with only elevator and rudder I can't do a lot... but it is great to fly again after so many years. And I never really planned on flying the Old Lady again

I just finished building my first SPAD and post a few pics in the SPAD section... Once I am comfortable flying again I think I will scratch build another GLH and put the .09 on it!!! That thing should really be a blast!
