Or I should say slow stick crash while trying to catch it :D

I got this crazy idea to fly off my room with wireless video on the slow stick, landing was a big problem, you'll see why.

Funny video in my opinion. However, I won't do it again, to dangerous, the flying over houses part, catching it isn't so bad

What camera system did you have on the plane? Sweet video even with the crash... ;)

Yah. Like the cam. Good viedo considering it's a cam that is takeing a beating like that and is light enough to be carried by a SS.

great video! looks like your glide path was WAY to steep, the slow stick glides pretty well so you probably could've been a little lower and still glided in. I don't know, but your circumstances might have been different (obstacles, wind, etc...) carnage was pretty bad looking :(

During the viedo, I saw an open field about 1 block where you were. If that wasn't privite property, why didn't you just land it there and walk across the street to get it? I mean it look liked right after takeoff that you regreted that that thing was in the air.

Spencer: flying from the field would take away from the cool factor :p flying from a roof is cool! not to mention its on video :D But it probably would've been smart to fly from the field.

Don't fly AT the feild, just land there IF you were having a problem. Which I think you were.

Thank you all! ;)

It was a black widow system 600mw with the panisonic camera. I took off into the wind which was about 11mph. Couldn't come in from the other side because of power lines, so the wind was pushing it along. Thought about landing by video in the park, it's about 7 houses down the road. Good thing I didn't hit the window  came close.

Was a little hairy up there. Haven't flown in about a month, felt my self getting scared. Funny because I have a Ultra Stick 60, but still waiting for MDS 78 to be repaired (good thing it's covered) and thats been about 1 1/2 months. Funny how little time with out flying makes me feel alittle uneasy while flying a slow plane like the SS. But that could be because I had a 400 dollar setup over houses and trees  Took me a long time to save up for that equipment.

Building the Tiger Moth 400 right now, don't know if it will like to haul video. But I'll give it a shot with the brushless. :D

I am new to R/C flying and after seeing that video I have just ordered my Slow Stick today. I can't beleive that little plane can carry a camera and I can't beleive it flew from your roof over suburbia! I think I'm going to enjoy this.
Thanks for the video, what a great laugh!

Glad to hear your getting into the flying seen!! The plane can carry a wireless system such as a black widow from www.blackwidowav.com. But you will need a brushless motor to pull it. The stock motor is fine for flying without a wireless system.

The slow stick it self makes a great trainer, and for 20 bucks a pop (slope glider version) you can't go wrong (if there is a crash). And they are great for night flying with a lighting system (like curtek) so you never run out of fun. :D

What JD hasn't told you was that he has pulled this all off before :)

Then again, another time he hit his chimney. :)

Yeah, videos can be hard to tell relative distance with... but that field is actually pretty far away and has lots of tall trees that would be very hard to negotiate without being in the field itself. So I think he had the better idea of things.
