I have 0 experience in floats, and that's why I have sulli question: can I install floats on 3.5kg giles202? how big do I need to make them from fiberglass??

I have yet to see an airplane you could not put floats on one way or another.
Sometimes they look a bit funny, but other than for that, they all seem to work OK.
As for length, the rule of thumb is 60-80% of the overall aircraft length.
75% is a prety standard size.
Mount the float step just in front of the aircrafts CG and set it up so the chord of the wing sits a few degrees posative when the plane is sitting at rest on the water. 3-5 degrees is nice.
