View Full Version : Best motor for a Gremlin?

Ok.. I've figured out that my 29RC Fox motor doesn't hack it to power my Gremlin (I need a failry long ROG to lift off). The plane weighs in at 3lbs and flys fine when its up but the prop only gets about 11k with this motor.

So I'm thinking of buying a new motor, either Norvel, Thunder Tiger, or Magnum.

What motor: 1) has the best power
2) has the best longevity (silly question w/combat?)
3) has a good selection of pipes/can be tuned well?

thanks for any advice. I want to be able to hand-launch this baby and
not worry about having too little power (and a .40 is pretty heavy).

cheers, Stefan

Stefan,

The best engine I have found is the OS FP 40. why?

It is light, easy to start, large prop, and fantastic fuel economy..

Mid-Aired many times and my feelings just do not get hurt because it is a cheap engine.

My favorite is a .25 FX. It is the most reliable engine I have ever used and makes fantastic power. With a muose can muffler and 9 X 4 prop 19,000 RPMs. I have norvels and trust me you don't want one of them!
