Hi Guys :)

Is anyone going to the CVRC Fall Fest (http://www.cvrcsoaring.com/fall_fest.htm) in Visalia CA this weekend (10/2 - 10/3/2004)?

I don't have any TD or scale sailplanes, but I'm going anyway. Meeting people, seeing old friends, taking pictures, looking at cool gliders and other RC stuff -- I think it'll be fun. If it looks to be anything like I've heard, I'll come back next year with an airplane to fly of my own ;)

I'm really exicted about seeing this event as it boasts almost 300 pilots from all over the nation (some even coming from other countries) and I've heard there will be dozens of RC industry vendors there. I even heard that there will be some fun events taking place on Saturday afternoon-evening.

If anyone is going, or has memories they'd like to share regarding CVRC Fall Fest, please post here.

I look forward to seeing you all in Visalia.

Happy Flying ;-)

I'm going. In the morning. My 1st time for the fall fest. I was at Bent-Wing in May --a much smaller group. Lots of fun.

I'll be there. I won't be flying either, but will check out all the planes and vendors. I have also volunteered as a timer for a friend. I plan on leaving late Sunday morning to go to Los Banos to do some flying there if the weather is good.

Search out Ross Thomas in the trailer parking area. Has six 3 meter Gnomes for sale. Also some 2 meter Gnomes, Paragons, Gemini MTS, SenSoars, HLG Gomes. I had the intention but son's birthday is today (friday) so being a vendor there got nixed. Maybe next year or the Bent Wing Fling in May 05 or the coming scale aero tow.

I'll see you there, Hblielich. I'll be in the turquoise Dodge Caravan.

I'll leave Visalia on Sunday morning and drive home, but not without the requisite stop at Los Banos Creek Reservoir ;)

Gotta get that sticktime in -- since I'm not a registered pilot (in the contest events) and I don't have the right kind of planes anyway, I'll suck it up on Saturday and burn up the slopes on Sunday at Los Banos. Even if the lift is pitiful, I'm bringing the e-glider and the Hobie Hawk.

I look forward to seeing you all in Visalia ;-)

It sounds like I better leave my credit cards and checkbook at home, and only bring a limited amount of cash to get by on. I have so little will power...
