Francis Thobois goes one step ahead:
A new coder is introduced for his already superb Supertef transmitter design

The new coder is described here :

A complet English translation is not yet available. In the meantime, I've translated a description of the main features :
New coder board for STEF96
It is our pleasure to offer a new coder for the SUPERTEF 96 transmitter. This coder is a drop-in, pin for pin replacement of the previous one, no other hardware modification at all being required.
As announced during the last few weeks, the new coder brings the following improvements :
- 27 basic model memories, each with a BIS and a TER configuration, which can be used or not.
This allows for a potential 3 times 27 model memories, i.e. 81 per memory bank.
A choice of 4 memory banks is possible, so that finally 4 times 27, or 108 basic model memories are available. A total of 4 times 81 or 324 potential model memories.
It is probably too much, but since it was possible, why not indulge oneself !! The next target is now very high !!
- Each of the model memories can use 16 "calculation" channels.
Two options can be chosen in software :
* MODE 7 channels + 1 : This is the present SUPERTEF 96 mode . 7 proportionnal channels plus 1 switched channel.
In this case, the remaining 9 channels (the switched channel not being involved) are available as free channels for intermediate calculations.
* MODE 11 channels + 1 : his the COD912 coder mode. 7 main proportionnal channels + 4 secondary proportional channels and the switched channel. In this second case, 5 free channels remain available for intermediate calculations.
It goes without saying that these 16 channels give the new SUPERTEF an awesome programming capacity.
Everything is now possible, without any limitation.
- Supertef was until now somewhat limited for helicopter use. We have added the capacity to create 9 POINT CURVES, which opens the field for any servo travel configuration.
The 9 point curves will also be used to create the expo curve of your dreams, symetrical or not.
- The frequency shift of the RF board , of course still synthethised, is programmable, but the actual change of shift is now automatic and user transparent.
- The choice of left or right stick throttle is now possible in software. Just disable/enable the left or right stick centering.
- A SERVO-TEST function is added, automatically activating the channels controlled by the no. 1 and 3 controls.
Great for range testing !
- Activation of the TIMER STOP function is now done via software rather than via a switch. This prevents forgetting it when flying different models , some using the function, others not, on the same day.
The switch has now become available to control MOTOR STOP. The throttle trim need not be changed any longer.
Flipping the switch stops the motor. It can be useful also with electric models.
- A REAL TIME CLOCK has ben provided for : Time and date of significant events in the field can now be ascertained.
As an aside, it offers 31 extra bytes RAM with a battery backup, quite useful for total time counters.
- In order to satisfy modellers who use jet engines, a tachometer which measures up to 999,999 rpm.
- Total compatibility with existing equipment, both programming and communication links.
Even in the 11 channel mode, existing receivers can be used, the 4 + 1 extra channels being processed by a small optional module from output 8 (synch output) of the receivers.
