Greetings,
I have recently been practically gifted the above boat, with a 30cc 2 stroke
petrol engine.
The hull is fine, but as usual the engine is the problem. This is the model
with the 'new improved Homelite engine, Zip start technology' but no
manual. Yah right!
Problem (1) is fuel uptake. I assume that you close the choke and yank the
starter a few times to propel mixture into the carb' and clear any air.
Problem is it don't suck it in. I have tried helping it along a little with
a large syringe but the gas just will not go in! All jets are clear. You
drip a few drops of gas into the cylinder head and she will try to
run...there is a good spark, so she wants to go!
Problem (2) is that, during the above bench motor run, the yank start
stopped moving the cylinder. Not the usual crunching/grinding sounds...just
stopped doing it. A linkage somewhere has to have given up. Can't find an
exploded view on the net of the motor and Prather are no longer distributing
to the UK, where I am.
So help please
