JR XS3 and other receivers?

Another newbie question. I have a JR XS3 radio. can i use this any other
receivers or must i purchase JR receivers? i have a couple of other cars
that have futaba and hitec receivers and i was wondering if i could just
change the XS3 trasmit frequency and use those cars? Is there any advantage
of using JR receivers with JR radios?
